Formerly the Blair County Reading Council, we are now the Keystone State Literacy Association Blair Bedford or
KSLA Blair Bedford,
serving the Blair County and Bedford County
region of Pennsylvania.
We are affiliated with the
Keystone State Literacy Association
(ksla.wildapricot.org)
and the International Literacy Association.
Since 1975 we have sponsored four to five yearly programs
on language arts resources for educators
as well as the community.
Among our yearly projects have been:
funding a $200 student teaching scholarship for an area college education major,
donating books and activities to Conemaugh Nason Medical Center
in Roaring Spring, PA for juvenile patients and families of newborns,
providing a bookcase and children's books to a Habitat for Humanity family, partnering with the Hollidaysburg Area School district to install and maintain
a Little Free Library in Hollidaysburg,
donating activity books to the Roaring Spring Community Library,
donating children's books to the Blair County African American Heritage Festival,
and presenting autographed books to area public libraries.
We strive to promote and encourage literacy
from birth to adulthood.
